CERV 1 Sells at Barrett-Jackson

Tony Briski, the retired engineer from General Motors who has been building a CERV 1 racer of his own, has to be tickled with the news out of Scottsdale this past weekend. The original CERV 1 (Chevrolet Engineering Research Vehicle) developed by Corvette engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov sold for a whopping $1.32 million at Barrett-Jackson. The reported buyer was General Motors, which we can assume means the historic car would be on its way to the GM Heritage Center in Detroit for a lifetime of museum retirement. Carlisle event organizer Lance Miller was on hand and captured the sale via a Facebook live post. You can check it out here.

If Briski can take advantage of the hefty sale price of the original and renewed media interest in the CERV 1, his very authentic reproduction might have some solid sales traction right out of the gate. We'll keep you updated on Briski's version.
