V12 LS Engine

LS engines from General Motors are affordable and plentiful and find their way into all sorts of vehicles as the coveted “LS Swap.” So what’s the next crazy thing to do with the LS engine?

Yup, a V12. The V12LS engine was developed by the Corish brothers of V12LS.com. A prototype was built by cutting half a cylinder off one LS block and 1 1/2 cylinders off another block and grafting them together. Machine work and testing yielded a 519-cubic-inch working prototype with 717 hp from a conservative tune. Most parts on the engine are still stock, or stock-style LS components, retaining the immense LS aftermarket. The engine was a hit at SEMA 2016 and the brothers will now be casting their own one-piece blocks with the potential for greater bore and stroke. They estimate that the engine is easily capable of 1,000+ hp and up to 2,000 with boost. 

The brothers are currently taking deposits on the V12LS, which will cost $35,000. While it’s not cheap, the V12LS opens the door for some interesting replica projects.

Race Ramps produces ramp solutions for almost any automotive application you can think of. The new Restyler Magna ramp is a versatile system for servicing, storing or displaying your ride. The Restyler can accommodate wheelbases from 82 to 128 inches and vehicles up to 6,000 pounds. The ramps measure 225 inches long by 16 inches wide by 14 inches high, and are available in red or black. They feature thin gauge metal incorporated for the use of magnetic tool trays.

For DIY guys who don’t have space for a car lift, Race Ramps are an easy-to-move and easily storable system to get your project off the ground.

The ’40 Ford Steering Column from ididit is the perfect way to finish off an interior on your retro rod. It has convenience features like four-way flashers, self-cancelling signals and locking detent for park and neutral. The column is finished off in brushed stainless steel with brass knobs, shift indicator and hardware for a vintage look and feel.

TreadWear Permanent Tire Graphics

White-letter tires are a classic way to add some needed flair where the rubber meets the road. While tire paint pens and spray paint stencils got the job done, nothing compares to the raised-letter look. TreadWear permanent tire graphic kits feature real rubber letters that permanently adhere to the tire sidewall. A lettering kit can be put together to spell whatever you want, including brand names and logos. The wide use of tire graphics on SEMA show cars tells us that you’ll be seeing them soon in the wild.

Speedmaster Ford Intake Manifolds

Speedmaster debuted several new intake manifolds for Ford small and big block engines. If your Cobra or Daytona Coupe utilizes a 351 Windsor, FE 390/427 or 429/460, Speedmaster now produces a downdraft EFI manifold for you. The 8-stack design with trumpets combines vintage style with modern EFI performance and reliability. These EFI manifolds accommodate high RPM and horsepower – 7,000 RPM and 1,000 hp for the 351W alone. Speedmaster manifolds are a more affordable route and can be purchased as a complete kit. In addition, the company also released a manifold for the use of 6-71 and 8-71 style blowers with Ford small blocks, if you’re so inclined.
