Graber Cars La Bala Lb2 1

GraberCars Changes Hands

Glenn Porter has purchased GraberCars from Steve Graber, who is currently pursuing other technology interests, but will continue to support the company as the transition moves forward with the new La Bala LB2 model, a fully enclosed version of the LB1 roadster for all-weather protection with heat and A/C for extra comfort.

“We have assembled a team of certified welders and fiberglass fabricators who are putting a very professional look and feel to the LB2,” notes Porter.

The frame is built from 4130 chromoly DOM tubing and 1.5-inch square tubing for the engine bay. Power on this new model comes from a 400hp GM Ecotec 2.0 turbo with 5-speed transaxle (stock to the HHR or Cobalt). The frame is constructed so you can install the engine and transmission using the stock motor mounts.

The suspension is a fully adjustable, double-wishbone design connected to the frame using Heim joints, along with GAZ coilovers. In this particular build Porter is using the Toyota SW20 uprights front and rear, with a GraberCars custom upright adapter to connect to the control arms. Pricing for the Core Kit starts at $14,995.
