When cramming bigger or additional components into engine bays, transmission tunnels and the vehicle’s underside, it’s easy to overlook temperature barriers and air gaps. Form-A-Shield from Design Engineering is designed for heavy-duty temperature barrier applications. Made from 10-mil dimpled aluminum and 1/4-inch basalt insulation, the shield is pliable and can be formed to shape or held on with adhesives or metal ties. It can be applied directly to hot surfaces and can withstand direct temperatures of over 1,400 degrees.
